Loved your video. We have published a new version that addresses the darkness of the game. There is now a setting on the menu to adjust the touch length for player who don't like jump scares.
Not bad! I had a good time playing this game and honestly, the undead zombies scared me a couple of times. I did my best to give my initial thoughts about the game and hoping my feedback helps you out at the end of the video. But I will like to say thank you for the opportunity for us to play your game. I do like feature where you can use your phone to read messages. Unfortunately, I did not make too far in the game but I had a good time overall. Let us know when you made huge improvements so we can try the game out again.
So things you should check that was maybe or maybe not in the video:
- Make the flashlight a bit brighter or maybe really make it flash/light up to the end of the hallway or room because I can barely see anything so not sure if that is part of the game or designed that way
- Crouching issue. Holding the button and somehow I started moving backwards while to trying to open up the drawers
- Ammo capacity. Seems to forgiving to have so much ammo. If you want to make a survival game, we should have a bit less so we can conserve our ammo and make the right decisions.
- Zombies are standing still when I was shooting at them
- In the video, there was one room was pitch black. Noticed, after rewatching my video, there were grey doors and white doors. Assuming that the grey doors do not open...in the video, somehow I think I opened one up and it was very dark so I think that was not supposed to happen.
Regarding the flashlight. The game has a jump scare theme and low light will give you those surprises. The dimming of the light adds to game play, forcing the player to find batteries to keep the light on. The player has to manage this resource, only recharging when needed as there is not an infinite number of batteries in the game, but the light will never go out completely. This brings us to the next point: Ammo
Let's say you starting to run out of charge on the flashlight and you remember leaving a battery on the second floor but now you have to return to that floor to recharge. New zombies would have spawned in that location and the longer you stay away from a location the more zombies there will be. You could imagine how many zombies will be on the roof if the player spent an hour getting to the top. So, we went with give enough ammo so that the player can complete the game. But I suppose that is where easy, medium, hard settings should come in which we don't have currently.
Back to the flashlight. We will meet you halfway and place a slider on the settings menu to increase the light distance per the player requirement.
Crouching, Zombies standing still and the one gray door are all bugs which we will sort asap.
And the last issue you did not mention is getting stuck on the stairs. That is not supposed to happen.
Thanks again for your effort. We will keep you updated on our progress.
I see the vision, clearly a work in progress and the message feature is nice. I'm sure with some polish this could be a solid little horror game and it gave me a few decent scares. Can't wait to see how this project evolves!
Hi. Thank you for your comment and post. We will get working on those bugs right away. Seeing how the game is played gives us allot of insight on how to improve the game play.

Great idea and concept, needs a bit of polishing, but still fun to play!

Hi queenfaith
You are a real gamer! You got further than most players. Tip, go for the head, body shots matter.
Thank for your support and let us know how we can improve.
you welcome

Any suggestions welcome.
As per your suggestion we added an intro scene and fixed the QR code issue when you press esc to pause. Thank you for bringing it to our attention.
We plan to introduce the Zombie used in the intro scene as a boss in the final fight.
New version has been released and downloadable on itch.
